Pink Flowers Serving Bowl (Seconds)

Seconds: This bowl is discounted due to the glaze flaw where the green glaze is in the white area on bowl towards the bottom rim. This flaw is aesthetic only and doesn't affect function. This green area is not visible from above when the bowl is place flat on the table.

A ring of richly running jade glaze encircles the rim of this unique decorative bowl.  A trio of blush pink flowers, each made from a different sprig, and cut-out leaf shapes add pretty touches. While decorative, it's completely functional too. Use it as a fruit bowl in your kitchen, or to serve salads and side dishes for large families or gatherings.

After throwing a rimmed shape, I let the bowl dry to soft leather-hard, then cut out the leaf shapes and added the flower sprigs made from molds. After it was bisque fired in an electric kiln, I used underglazes to paint the blossoms and fired it again. Finally, a shiny clear glazed applied all over adds durability.
